ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Join Dr. Caldwell, Chief Medical Officer of Dry January® USA, for an engaging discussion on the growing scientific evidence linking alcohol consumption to cancer risk and the role of alcohol reduction in improving public health. Dry January® USA is the official and trademarked U.S. arm of the global Dry January® campaign housed at Meharry Medical College, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2026. Dr. Caldwell will explore how the Dry January® movement has evolved from a public health initiative into a global phenomenon.

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in public health leadership, health administration, and biomedical research, he will examine the opportunities, challenges, and impact of encouraging individuals and communities to rethink alcohol use as a pathway to longer, healthier lives.
